[Activity Report] Finalists Take Part in "10 Steps to the Global Village," a Collaboration Between the NPO KIV Children's International Village and Global Education Co., Ltd.

On Wednesday, February 11, 2026 (a national holiday), two Mrs. Universe Japan 2026 finalists, Yuri Yamamura (Yuri Ringo) and Chiaki Enomoto, volunteered as staff at "10 Steps to the Global Village," a joint program by the international exchange NPO KIV Children's International Village and Global Education Co., Ltd.

As part of the Mrs. Universe Japan "Volunteer Club" activities, here is our report on a day spent supporting global education for the children who will lead the next generation.

Workshop: The "Four Culture Types" That Connect Us with the World

In this program, children in the lower grades of elementary school took part in a workshop on the "four culture types," which are essential for communicating with people around the world.

Led by instructor Nancy, the workshop explored the world from a "cultural perspective" rather than a world map, and the finalists who were supporting it were impressed too, saying it was "very educational."

The workshop also touched on the environmental and social issues facing our planet, and in response to the question "What can I do?" the children came up with one flexible and wonderful idea after another.

Support activities by the finalists

At the venue, the two finalists took care of the following:

  • Setting up the venue and handing out materials
  • Encouraging and following up with the children during group work
  • Offering hints during discussions

They listened carefully to each child's opinion to draw out their "power to think," and their smiling interactions with the children left a lasting impression.

Comments from the participants

Yuri Yamamura (Yuri Ringo) (@yuririmiet)

"It was a day when I felt that the children's smiles are the greatest treasure. Seeing them work so hard to answer the question 'What can I do?', I was reminded how important it is to develop the ability to think for oneself from an early age. I want to keep supporting this wonderful initiative that turns children's eyes to the world."

Chiaki Enomoto (@akky.diary)

"Seeing such a wonderful, well-structured educational method up close, I learned a great deal myself. Building on my experience as an international exchange volunteer, I want to continue to value opportunities to contribute to children's futures."
